LALO SUPPORTS NAACP CHAPTER FREEDOM FUND DINNER

The Warren-Page County Chapter of the NAACP #7125 is holding its 60th annual dinner and event on September 23, 2017, at the Holiday Inn, Route 522, Front Royal, VA.

This year’s event is chaired by LALO’s own Founder and Chief Curator, Bryane Lickson. She has pulled together the speaker, the place and a selection of art for the celebration of NAACP progress and the growth of the local chapter. Working with NAACP Chapter President Alford “AD” Carter, Bryane expects a large crowd of members and supporters to be present for an important evening of talk, fellowship and good food.

The featured speaker for the September 23 event is Glenda F. Hodges, PhD, JD, M.Div and Founder of Still I Rise, Inc. of Clinton, Maryland. Dr. Hodges is expected to talk about the good work of her organization and the wonderful, yet delicate times we have had in this country since Charlottesville and related events. Still I Rise, Inc. is an organization which helps victims of domestic violence, engages in civil rights advocacy and helps fight human trafficking.

“We have gathered many pieces of great art to show at the event ”, said Bryane. She points out that art knows no race, no nationality, no creed, – only a visage which is comfortable to behold by the viewer. “In many ways, art is the perfect way for artists of all backgrounds to express themselves – whether they appeal to themselves, a small group or the masses”, she added.

The festivities on September 23 begin at 5:15PM with a social time until 6PM when the Banquet and evening program begins. Tickets are $55 each.

LALO (Let Art Live On) appreciates the opportunity for member artists from a variety of backgrounds to have their work exhibited. LALO also takes the opportunity to show off some art from its new project, “Buy Art, Fight Poverty” (www.buyartfightpoverty.org) which it is administering for A Future Without Poverty, Inc., an internationally recognized not for profit company (www.fwop.org). While there will only be room for a small group of art at the Holiday Inn program, Bryane assures everyone that all the art is good and each piece has been selected by her for this special event.

Announcing our new project

We are so pleased to announce that our Company has been selected by A FUTURE WITHOUT POVERTY, INC. (FWOP) to provide artists around the world with an opportunity to utilize their talents and to better their own financial position. The goal is to help lift these artists out of poverty and to help make their art known to the rest of the world through LALO’s new program: Buy Art Fight Poverty™. By offering digital versions of an artist’s work through LALO’s network and marketing capability, the artist in poverty can realize income which can change his/her economic situation and can lead to an end of poverty for that individual and his/her family. We’ll also be able to supply prints, and, on occasion, the original of the artwork.

We have brought on board a Project Manager, Amanda Lovins, to help us in this endeavor. Amanda has a background in arts management, program development and she knows the not-for-profit world. She will help LALO initiate the new program through a new website: BuyArtFightPoverty.org which is under construction and is expected to be operational and announced at FWOP’s Global Initiative event in Costa Rico the first full week of October, 2017. You will also be invited to the Lalo Fall Party and the new project launch event in the U.S. in October. We’re still working out the time and place.

FWOP (futurewithoutpoverty.org) has been involved in fighting poverty in many countries around the world. Videos on its website picture some of the many projects it has undertaken in working with the unique needs of each community in supporting “Education”, “Enterprise”, “Environment” and “Empowerment” . FWOP is an IRS qualified 501(C)(3) non-profit organization.

In an upcoming news release, Bryane will be quoted as saying: “We expect to uncover amazing art done by talented people, but whose financial situation is dire. Many of these artists in all countries have such good ability, we are happy to be able to show their work and help get them financially sustainable”.

Artists who are not in poverty and who would like to support this endeavor are welcome to do so. Owners of art who have the legal right to have prints made should also contact LALO (info@letartliveon.com). These artists and art lovers can help fellow artists so that this movement can catch fire.

As you know, Bryane is also the Chief Curator of LALO, Inc. We have brought on Darlene Howell as an Assistant Curator. She lives in Falls Church, Virginia – home of Falls Church Distillers LLC (our largest physical gallery to date).

Each piece of art shown on the new project’s website will also be archived and will “Live On” in keeping with the philosophy that good art should never be lost and that artists should, in Bryane’s words, “never let their soul’s light be extinguished.”

FCD Art Installation

Hi Folks:

Bryane and I want to thank everyone who helped get the magnificent show up for viewing at FCD in Falls Church.

The team (and it truly was a team effort) worked hard to get art ready and install it on Tuesday and Wednesday. We can all be proud that we have helped add Art to what is already going to be an exciting and attractive venue starting with a soft opening on July 1, 2017. There are currently over 80 pieces of art ranging in size from 6 inches square to 3 feet by 6 feet. Needless to say, we are all tired and a bit overwhelmed but anxious to get going in Falls Church in affiliation with a great crew already there (including Michael, Lorenzo and Jim).

Let me also introduce Jason Davis. Jason, as you will soon see, is a most welcome addition to the Lalo family.
