I met Charles on MDNTs, where we bonded over cars and model railroading, altho he was a serious HO enthusiast, whereas Dick Walker & I were Lionel (toy train;-) fans. We went to many train shows and railroad museums together.
I accompanied him, by train, of course, to Arizona, to live with his "adopted" daughter Paloma.
After he passed in 2018, Dick & I donated some of his unbuilt kits to Boy Scout Troup 964, and went to his memorial in Phoenix.
