We are planning a trip to Turkey in 2006 to see the total eclipse of the sun. And I said, "I'll have to have a digital video camera by then!" Then I said, "we'll get it before our April (2005) trip to Louisiana. " And then I said, "but I want to get comfortable before we leave for Lafayette, I'll just get it now!'

It's a digital video camera, a Canon Elura 60. It has a 14x zoom, and can take both still pix and video - simultaneously! It will take a long time to learn all the features and even longer to become comfortable with it. I am approaching it slowly, so far only digesting what I need to know for the still picture festures.
