Spring!

Spring has sprung, the grass is riz; and slowly the neighborhood uncurls from its winter hibernation.

Kevin has decided he needs a load of manure. He polls the neighbors. Larry is a taker; so are Jim and Chuck.
Soon a huge truck lumbers down Tretter Drive and dumps its load on Kevin's driveway. The Manure-men gather. Jim has a wheelbarrow with a capacity of 6 sq. ft, and a flat tire. Larry has a flat fronted shovel and an electric air pump. Kevin also has a shovel.

Other neighbors stop as they drive out, roll down the car windows and discuss the yards, the new neighbors and one or two of the old ones. A father walks his year-old daughter over to see what is going on. There is a babble of voices and good feelings.
A mathematically inclined manure-man has determined that 4 and a half wheelbarrow loads will make up each man's share. The shoveling begins. Since Larry's depository is at the far end of the street, they take turns delivering his share. If you use a magnifying glass, you can see Kevin delivering a load of manure to Larry's driveway.
