From Atoms to Astronauts: Space and Energy Exploration in New Mexico

March 2002 - Here was an Elderhostel that would give us an in-depth view of the technical side of New Mexico. Like Larry, most of the hostelers were of a scientific or engineering background, which made for good companionship. Our guides included a retired physicist and a retired history professor. One gave us lectures about the technical sites we would be visiting, the other, the history and geology of the state. We travelled around the state in a 40 seat bus (see map) and stayed at moderate motels. This is what we love about Elderhostel; we are well cared for and don't have to think about these details. We can put our full attention on the subject at hand.
