On August 4, 2016, a Lalo team journeyed to Sunnyside, a residential community near Harrisonburg, to take down a show which featured 40 pieces by Lalo artists. Although it was not the longest running exhibition, it was warmly received by residents and others. “We are delighted the fine artists who reside at Sunnyside thought the Lalo artist art was of the highest quality,” said Lalo Founder and Chief Curator Bryane Lickson. “This was a great compliment to the many artists whose paintings, drawings, pastels and photos were shown there,” she added. The show at Sunnyside ran from July 19 to August 4, 2016. Thanks also go to Avio Galleries of Luray, who kindly donated the use of one of their vans to transport the art both out and back, ably piloted by Sherrie Brown. Avio is one of the premier companies in organizational art and has many hospitals, government agencies, retirement facilities and others as clients for their large wall pieces, framing and art placement. As with the art show at Loving Arms (now known as Shenandoah Senior Living), a reception was held during the afternoon of July 19, 2016. While artwork by Lalo artists was a feature of the Reception, Lalo Chair Bryane and President Chips Lickson greeted guests, staff and residents of the facility. Bryane also thanked Layna Erney of Sunnyside and the Sunnyside staff for their help in holding the show, the first of its kind for Lalo in a residential retirement community. The 40 pieces adorned the main corridor into the Bethesda Theater at Sunnyside.
