Falls Church Distillers Opening Delayed
Things are on track for the opening of Falls Church Distillers, but the timing needs to be adjusted. As reported before, Michael Paluzzi, the Principal of Falls Church Distillers, LLC (FCD), and LALO, Inc. have an agreement in principle whereby LALO will provide the art for the new operation, the first of its kind in rapidly growing Fairfax County, Virginia.
Also as reported earlier, Paluzzi is planning both online sales and a sales counter on the premises. The facility will be in the historic Tinner Hill section of the City of Falls Church. Tinner Hill was the location of the first rural branch of the NAACP, when Falls Church was rural.
“We like the historical connection between our forthcoming new business and the long history of the region,” said Mike recently in conversation with Chips Lickson, President of LALO. “We still envision a variety of offerings by FCD, including “Paint and Wine,” “Drink with the Arts” and many other tastings and events,” he added.
LALO and FCD will collaborate with a changing art gallery will be designed into the premises.
Falls Church Distillers was hoping to open by Christmas of this year. According to Mike, it now looks like the Distillery to be in operation in the first Quarter of 2017.
“Having an Art Section in the FCD is a great opportunity for LALO Member Artists,” said Mark Appleton, a Director of LALO and nearby Fairfax County neighbor of the distillery.
Falls Church Distillers is located at 442 Washington St. Here are a few views of the progress:
