Shenandoah University’s Ethics Event To Feature LALO

“Integrity in the Workplace” is the title of a program being presented on Saturday morning, November 12, 2016, from 9:00AM to 1:00PM, at the Byrd Business School of Shenandoah University. The event came about through the good efforts and ideas of Dr. Richard Anson and his wife Barbara, who are the principles of Ezekiel’s Place/Peace and Justice Academy of Shenandoah Crossing, West Virginia. Charles Lickson, President and co-founder of Lalo, Inc., is a featured speaker in the program. Dean Miles Davis of the SU Business School cannot attend due to his travel schedule, but will be well represented by Associate Dean Dr. Bogdan Daraban and Assistant Dean Dr. Fritz Polite. Based upon the original program design and agenda for a similar event given last February at Shepherd University, Drs. Richard Anson and Charles “Chips” Lickson have their eyes on the November 12 program. The upcoming program is co-sponsored by the Byrd Business School at Shenandoah University. Also speaking at the November program will be Will Hairston and Dr. Judith James, both principles of event co-sponsor “Coming to the Table” of the Shenandoah Valley. “Coming to the Table” was founded by descendants of people who were enslaved and descendants of people who enslaved others. It is connected to the Center for Justice and Peacebuilding at Eastern Mennonite University in Harrisonburg, VA, In addition to hearing the principle speakers, the group will be invited to discuss “Principled Choices” with facilitators, including Lalo founder and Chairman Dr. Bryane Lickson, and Tom Benjamin, Director of Development at the 4-H Center of Northern Virginia. Tom is also Executive Director of a “Future Without Poverty”. They will be joined by speakers and members of the SU Business School faculty. Lalo is also a co-sponsor of the event and is delighted to have both people and member artists present and to advertise the event through their network. They are joined by event co-sponsor the Warren-Page County Chapter of the NAACP. “Art is universal. So are Ethics. So is dialogue among people. It’s hard to picture Integrity in the Workplace if people cannot get along together and work together,” said Dr. Lickson, who is acting as co-chair of the November event, since Richard Anson has to be in Africa on an important consulting assignment for the World Bank on November 12. “We are so glad to have some of Lalo’s art and artists at the November program,” said Bryane. “Lalo wants Art To Live On; we also are committed to an ethical, diverse workspace,” she added.
